Hand of Friendship

Over 400 students from 16 schools on both sides of the border have participated in the first year of the International Fund for Ireland supported Hand of Friendship project this school year. By 2013 the project will have reached 1300 students, across the border and cross community.

Citi Foundation Funds Personal Economics Nationwide

The Citi Foundation announced a $50,000 grant to fund JA’s Personal Economics programme for 13-15 year olds, focusing on personal skills and interests, career options and personal and family financial management. More than 50 Citi volunteers each year teach business and enterprise programmes to over 1,100 students in 35 schools in Dublin and Waterford.

A joint effort by two local organisations has helped equip children as young as ten years old with the financial literacy skills they need to make wise decisions later in life about spending and saving money. HSBC and JA Ireland brought JA More than Money to more than 1460 local students since January 2010.

Celebrating EU Day

Enterprise 4U celebrated Europe Day on 9th May. The interactive workshop, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and generously supported by the European Union House, gave 70 students from Our Lady Immaculate School Darndale, a unique opportunity to learn more about the different EU member countries and the importance of Ireland’s participation in the EU.
