Celebrating EU Day

There was a surprise visit from Ireland’s EU Commissioner, Charlie McGreevy who provided some encouragement to the students. The students were set a task to design an information poster for each of the 27 European Union member countries. During the activity they found out about their chosen country’s population, the heads of state and government and the way to say ‘hello’ in the different EU languages.
On hand to help with cutting and gluing were enthusiastic volunteers from Trinity College Dublin, AIB and Accenture. After they had completed their project the students learnt about importing and exporting by playing a trading game and took part in table quiz!
